Blizzard developed the original Starcraft nearly 10 years ago, and it remains an offline and online success, with the battle’s taking place in homes, internet cafes and LAN’s in every corner of the globe.

Ok, so it’s here – when did it get officially released?

Starcraft 2 – codenamed “Wings of Liberty” was released at midnight 27.7.2010

With huge promotions, discounts and offers from games retailers such as Walmart, Gamestop and BestBuy – you can be sure, you’ll get your hands on a copy quickly and at the best price.

With the huge buzz around the official Starcraft 2 release date, developers and Blizzard guru’s were in and around games stores, offering signed copies of the Starcraft2 software purchase.

Traditional fans will be happy to know that SC2 offers some nice addons or next level progression from the original Starcraft. “StarCraft II introduces lots of new units and abilities that build on the gameplay of the original StarCraft.”

The big focus for Blizzard game developers was to make each race in Starcraft2 totally different, offering 3 very different game routes, or types of games that can be played. As such with the first release (Starcraft1) it kept people playing for years – hence the focus here to keep the game player happy and coming back for more and more challenges with their friends.

Of course the real beauty of Starcraft2 now that it’s released is the massive online playability factor. Gamers can login and challenge their friends and people online to duels and see how good their starcraft skills really are.

Judging by the huge buzz at the moment, this will genuinely rival that of CounterStrike and the whole Steam situation where gamers kept coming back and logging in for years and years after the impressive piece of software was released to the public.

Losing hair, commonly having your hair go thin at the front – is a worrying thing for many men of varying ages.

It wasn’t this simple however.

Most of the hotels in Vietnam were either private hotel chains or little known, national brands that most westerners would not have seen or heard of.

However, don’t fret – with some tips, finding a good vietnam hotel is possible. For a start, we didn’t book prior to landing on the plane in Vietnam. We simply jumped in cab and headed to district 1 in vietnam.

Distrcit 1 (in Saigon) is the hotel district for the town. The good news is, most of the hotels are very cost effective, so you can stay in vietnam very cheap. The 2 star hotel we first saw was a little disappointing, very old in its decor and setup and around $25 US for a basic room for a single night.

It was late, and we werem’t sure of the area or cab fares in vietnam, so we decided to stay in the basic 2 star hotel (included breakfast) and looked around the next day.

Further up the road, near more of the nightlife (the likes of the Crazy Buffalo Pub) and of course go-go bars in Vietnam – we found a strip of hotels. Some were impressive, 3 and 4 stars seemed to be the best we could find. No sign of 5 star hotels.

The hotels in vietnam are rated by the government, so you will see a good badge (quiet large) at the front of all legit hotels stating the quality. Everything from backpacker accomodation, the candian hotel stood out big time and some quality other US style hotels – nothing more than say $35-45 USD for a deluxe room per night. Suites were around $75 USD per night.

In terms of nightlife, the clubs and adult play areas are kept a little underground. You will see and hear locals pull up next to you on their mopeds and offer massages in vietnam, and the code term for extras being ‘boom boom’ and you’ll even get locals coming up and offering illegal substances.

Play it smart, common sense will keep you away from trouble and you will otherwise enjoy your holiday or vacation in Vietnam.

The Vietnam War Relics museum is great, as is the cu-chi tunnels tour which is around 1 hour outside of saigon – well worth seeing.

The reunification palace in saigon is also a great tourist spot and best of all, everything is quite inexpesnive and cheap to check out for tourists.

Just beware of the traffic in Saigon, Vietnam. With over 10,000,000 locals, the amount of mopeds, scooters, motorbikes and cars on the road in vietnam is amazing. We saw 2-3 accidents in the space of 4 days – a regular occurance on roads in vietnam.

The first idea is to take mom out for the day, most if not all mothers would prefer a nice breakfast, lunch or roast dinner – maybe beside the beach, at a nice local restaurant or a family or relatives place to show from everyone exactly how much love and care are there for the mom of the family.

I dare say most moms on mothers day would prefer a nice family meal compared to an expensive last minute mothers day gift.

Many moms simply want to spend time with their children. As we all get older, the time spent calling mom on the phone, or just ‘hanging out’ at her place gets less and less. A simple hug or kiss for mom or a really special greeting card for mothers day will also be much more appreciated than even a last minute mothers day gift.

If getting together isn’t possible, why not arrange a holiday or getaway for mum, with you and the family in the coming days or weekend. It might be a delayed mothers day, but it would still be appreciated and the time away would be ideal for mom and relatives, getting out of the local area and away from work and most interruptions.

We all know moms are super special and make the world go round. They will say they don’t want too much fuss, but deep down they do ‘need to be needed’. The love and special greeting to moms everywhere is so important, so don’t forget your mum today on mothers day 2010 – sunday may 9th.

If you cannot get your hands on that last minute mothers day gift or present, simply just ‘being there’ to spend time with mom and the rest of the family could be the best present you or anyone else in your extended family do for your mother for a long time! (or until mothers day next year!!)

As mafiawars and farmville have reaped massive amounts of gamers from facebook, other gaming companies weren’t going to stand back and let them take the whole pool of potential online gamers.

Recently, the Kingory Game went all facebook and integrated with the gaming app side of things and has seen an increase in users – the MMORPG title which closely mimics Evony Free Forever felt it could get an upper hand on rival games by joining forces with Facebook.

But now, Battle.net (Battlenet by Blizzard Inc) the makers of Starcraft, Starcraft2, World of Warcraft and Warcraft3 (DOTA – Defence of the ancients) have aligned with facebook with the doors opening to battlenet users first and branching into the starcraft realms initially.

The next step would surely be world of warcraft? If Blizzard could somehow bring WoW to the Facebook side of things, they could replicate the success of evony, and do it even more successfully with additional users. Naturally, grabbing users on facebook is much easier and faster than drawing in new visits, account logins and clicks from the web.

Facebook friends will invite, challenge and link with other gamers on all levels – and Blizzard saw this.

The other party which would be interested by all this would be Google. The big ‘Google’ has been watching facebook for some time, noticing the rapid raise of FB not just amongst social networkers, but advertisers, with facebook adverts cheap and growing rapidly – not to mention being super-targeted.

Google don’t want Facebook to continue to be the ‘Home Garden’ for users, with many users entering and leaving their internet time with Facebook.

The future is changing, and changing rapidly – Gamers unite, because they are the next to be rewarded with this latest facebook and battlenet, Blizzard partnership.

Since relaunch as a MMORPG, the BBG (browser based game) has already rocketed up the Alexa rankings and is closing in on the Top 50,000 websites online. (An impressive feat for any site, let alone an old gaming favourite relaunched)

Ok, time to get your weapons together – join forces with the main character (featured) Jax and use his enchanted powers to help guide you through the worlds of the Zork Game.

Jackanape is more jack in the box than human, a nimble creature in the Zork Game they use antics to defeat the enemy and can swallow victims whole!

The Hopping Claw Monkey hero is a tricky one. Try not to laugh or you’ll be crying in game, as this nimble creature has massive claws and and can stop an enemy in the Zork Game in his tracks.

Finally, the creature called ‘Horror’ is nothing more than a bag of bones – waiting to break an enemy bone by bone to get their win.
