One Day Cricket Australia Pakistan
The one day cricket (Limited Overs 50 Over One Day International) between Australia and Pakistan is underway in Sydney.
The quality of the cricket on show has been good, with Pakistan while struggling in the test cricket arena, having been quite solid in 20/20 cricket and 50 overs (one day cricket).
Afridi has been good with batting and bowling, helping his team achieve a respectable score in the Game 1 (cricket in Brisbane, the Gabba).
The other standout players for Pakistan cricket are Shoaib Malik, Yhounis Khan and Rana – all having good performances recently.
For those wanting to watch the cricket game live, it has been a good summer so far in Australia. The West Indies, Australia and Pakistan are now set to fight it out for the triangular one day series.
The popularity of the 20/20 format continues to grow, while the IPL continues to be the best, most exciting form of cricket in India – the style is getting more popular in Australia too. With the crowds coming to watch cricket more so, for 20/20 than the test and one day games being played.
The only surprise, is for the IPL player auction – that only a few Australian players have been picked in the Indian cricket teams. Adam Voges and retired cricket player Justin Langer were picked up at auction.
The concern in India has been around the violence (reported) towards Indians in Australia. However, this is simply not true.
Indian people are well respected in Australia and form a good part of the community. The violence experienced recently has merely been robbery or fighting. There is no hate between Australian and Indians, they both share love for cricket and this will always be the case.
As the indian premier league gears up for 2010, we wait with anticipation as the likes of MS Dhoni, Tendulkar, and many players from around the world compete in the cricket 20/20 supreme competition that is IPL.
