Evony Game Competition
According to signed up users the Evony Game remains the leader in free MMO web gaming, but as of this month (Jan 2010) there is a new kid on the block in the form of Grepolis by Innogames – with the originally German based online game being converted across to English language platforms in the past few months.
Already a big success in Germany, the decision to push the game to the rest of the world was an easy one – given that everything else was in place. Its believed the game will also be converted to other languages, most believing that Asian nations too will get a taste of the Grepolis Game.
For Evony, where the actual Evony Logins were nearing 11 million accounts – it represents new competition and the real winner is the gamer. Graphics are improving, as is gameplay and storylines.
The games remain free to sign up, play and then if enjoyed – pro players can purchase game coins to take their experience to the next level.
Its seemingly a step back to the future, almost like the Shareware model – but instant, through the web browser.
