Why is Facebook so slow?

The question around “Why is Facebook so slow” can be answered in many ways. Sadly, there could be more than one cause. The first and most important question, is Facebook slow at your end or the internet end?

By that it means, do you have a fast enough internet connection? Cable, ADSL, Satellite or Dialup. The last two might prove a little too slow for fast and regular Facebook use.

The easiest way to understand this, is Facebook normally fast on your computer or is it commonly slow at your PC?

If Facebook is unusually slow and it normally runs OK, then chances are the problem could be at the other end. It could be your local ISP or internet provider having problems, it could be further down the line and Facebook could actually be having a server problem, overload, corruption or something similar.

One of the more recent problems for Facebook being so slow is because of the rise in 3rd party applications. Some poorly designed facebook apps can really affect the performance of the social networking tool and kill any decent speeds of load off.

Some applications while very handy, could also be draining value resources in terms of your bandwidth and could be commonly causing people to ask “Why is Facebook so Slow”

It’s all a process of eilimination, if you’re struggling to solve it – it may be worth calling a computer repairman in or a friend who knows the inner-workings of the internet and connections.

No offense, but this post is somewhat condescending.
Even worse, you blatantly misunderstand the problem. Sometime in the last week or two Facebook became deadly slow to an extremely large group of people. It has nothing to do with applications, as many of them have none. It has nothing to do with internet speed, as most are on cable. It has nothing to do with processor speed or geographic region as it’s all spread out so much.

    It’s exclusively on Facebook’s end.
