Eminem MTV Movie Awards
Our man Eminem is back! The controversial, talented rap artist releasing a new album Relapse recently after a long lay off from writing and performing.
His appearance on the MTV Movie Awards was classic Eminem; this was to be his first big live performance since the release of his No. 1 album, “Relapse.”
But putting the live onstage performance aside, it all went awry for Eminem at the MTV Movie Award when shortly after (when he was in the stands) – funny man Sacha Baron Cohen’s outwardly gay character Bruno slowly dropped from the roff in angel wings and landed, butt-first, in Eminem’s face in the crowd. Bad move! It was a total Eminem Teabagging! Who could imagine those homophobic guy in the world, publically humiliated! Eminem teabagged!
The first reaction of Eminem or Slim Shady as they call him was to throw punches. There was some cussing and swearing and the main man Eminem left the building with a huff. Credit to MTV who has had some fun with some big names in the crowd, Eminem the perfect target because of his often homophobic lyrics in his rap songs. The action scence put on in front of the large MTV audience gave the show some major highlights after some dull past performances.
Who knows, was this whole thing a setup? Probably. Eminem knows how to do this kind of thing perfectly and its now mainstream news around the world. He knows how to deal with his now regular homophobic tag to move records before (refer to the previous Grammys’ 2001 performance with Elton John). If the whole thing was staged tho, what a shame Emimen couldn’t have stayed around and dragged it on a bit more instead of rushing out.
But if this clash was a real punch up, it would be a huge score one for Cohen, the Brit who contiues to rise through the ranks in America.
